Mary Ann Puckett

Funeral service for Mary Ann Puckett, 73, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Puckett died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at her home.
She was born on July 5, 1937, in Covington, Okla., the daughter of James Wetzel and Naomi Bannon.
Mrs. Puckett was an air traffic controller for the U.S. Air Force. She formerly owned a small monogramming and embroidery business in Denver. Mrs. Puckett also worked as an office administrator for Boeing in Wichita.
She married Norman Puckett on Feb. 14, 1985, in Wichita. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Christina Neavitt and husband Jeff, Lecompton; a son, Tony Wetzel and wife Betty, Lake Tapps, Wash.; a stepson, Norman Dean Puckett, Oak Grove, Mo.; three sisters, Shirley Herpolsheimer and husband Richard, Mesa, Ariz., Judy Gross, Loveland, Colo., and Lorraine Fugate and husband Gary, St. Charles, Mo.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Thomas Beasley, on June 7, 2004.
