JoAnn Transmeier

Graveside services for JoAnn Transmeier, 72, rural Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.
Mrs. Transmeier died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, at her home.
She was born on April 10, 1938, in Lawrence, the daughter of Duane and Opal Wiggins Johnson.
Mrs. Transmeier was a retired food service employee for Pinckney School. She retired in 2007. Mrs. Transmeier formerly worked at the Lawrence Paper Company, Kansas Color Press, Hallmark Cards and the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant.
Mrs. Transmeier was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Lawrence.
She married Marvin Transmeier on July 1, 1956, in Lawrence. He preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 1987.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra LeeAnnTransmeier, in July 2008.
Survivors include her companion, Richard Wustefeld, of the home; a daughter, Susan Transmeier and husband John Johnson; two granddaughters, Rachelle Arvizu and Tonya Arvizu; and three great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Nunez, Shyanne LaBlue and Travis Williams.
The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
