Virginia Ruth Means

Funeral services for Virginia Ruth Means, 93, McLouth, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at McLouth United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at McLouth Cemetery.
She died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at the Hickory Pointe Care Center in Oskaloosa.
She was born June 8, 1917, in Ackerland, the daughter of William and Esther Bell Jeannin. She was a 1935 graduate of Jarbalo High School.
Mrs. Means was a homemaker and helped her husband in farming. She was a member of the McLouth United Methodist Church and the Eureka Extension Home Unit in Leavenworth County. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 62 in Oskaloosa.
She married Charles “Barney” Means on April 15, 1939, in McLouth. He preceded her in death Oct. 7, 1990.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Jeannin.
She is survived by two sons, Jim Means, McLouth, Larry Means, Oskaloosa; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa, with Eastern Star services at 7:30 p.m. conducted by Chapter No. 62.
