Freda May Meyer

Funeral services for Freda May Meyer, 97, McLouth, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the McLouth First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at McLouth Cemetery.
Mrs. Meyer died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka.
She was born March 24, 1913, in Baldwin City, the daughter of James Pinckney and Olive Collins Hall. She was a 1932 graduate of McLouth High School.
Mrs. Meyer was a member of the McLouth First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for more than 50 years. She was a member and past president of the McLouth Senior Citizens.
Mrs. Meyer was a homemaker and had also worked as a nurse’s aide at the Jefferson County Geriatric Center in Winchester for 10 years.
She married Lester Carl “L.C.” Meyer on April 8, 1933, in McLouth. He preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1987.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Earl Hall, and a sister, Lula McDaniel; and two brothers and a sister in infancy.
Survivors include a daughter, Alicia Wood and husband Fred, McLouth; and a nephew, Jim McDaniel.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. before services at the church.
