Fred C. Van Bebber
Memorial services for Fred C. Van Bebber, 76, Wichita, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Van Bebber died Sunday, May 24, 2009.
He was born Aug. 13, 1932, in St. Joseph, Mo., the son of Ralph and Charlotte Van Bebber.
He graduated from Lawrence Memorial High School in 1950. He was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and graduated from Kansas University in 1954.
He was a financial adviser for UBS, retiring after 50 years.
He served as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. He was a volunteer with Junior Achievement and was a longtime member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder and choir member. He was a supporter of KU athletics, Wichita State University basketball, Friends University and Sterling College. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
He was married to his wife, Harriett, for 51 years. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Bruce, and wife Pam, Wichita; two daughters, Nancy Dollar, and husband Larry, Prairie Village, and Sara Lester and husband Brian, Wichita; and nine grandchildren, Annie, Josh, Caroline, Elaine, John, Ben, Elizabeth, Mason and Miles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nancy Wagstaff.
