Services for Bill L. Hornberger Jr. 72, Eudora will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery in Agricola.Mr. Hornberger died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.He was born June 15, 1936, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of William and Evelyn Gulley Hornberger. He worked as a propane truck driver for the Farmer’s Co-op in Lawrence. After retirement, he managed the Two Oaks Golf Course in Eudora.He served as a military policeman in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.He married Marilyn Drennon. They divorced. He married Patricia Howard on April 27, 1960, in Ottawa. They divorced. He married Jeanie Wheelock on June 15, 1983, in Lawrence. They divorced.He is survived by five daughters, Lori Priest, Waverly, Rhonda Sprow, Waverly, Lillian White, Pleasant Hill, Mo., Ashley Hornberger, Lawrence, and Elizabeth Davis, Lawrence; two sisters, Carrie Doran, Kingdom City, Mo., and Lillian Ditter, Winona, Minn.; a brother, David Hornberger Sr., Versailles Mo.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.The family will greet friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Bill Hornberger Memorial Fund, sent in care of the mortuary.
