Funeral services for Mary Louise French, 96, Lecompton, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. A private burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lecompton.Mrs. French died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008.She was born Oct. 7, 1913, in Lecompton, the daughter of Clarence L. and Emma L. Gordon Glenn.She graduated from Lecompton High School and cosmetology school in Lawrence. Mrs. French moved to Abilene in the early 1940s and owned a beauty salon and was a cosmetologist until her retirement about 1980.After she retired, she moved back to Lecompton.She was a member of Lecompton Historical Society and Lecompton Sunshine Club.She married Stanley E. French. He preceded her in death.She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dale L. Glenn and Clarence L. Glenn Jr.Survivors include a son, Donald E. French, Buena Vista, Colo.; a daughter, Sandra K. Nichols, Lecompton; a brother, Earl G. Glenn, Topeka; three sisters, Leatha R. Cook, Topeka, Hazel I. Barger, Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Geneva M. Swanson, Lyndon; and several grandchildren.Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
