Services for Gary Crowe, 61, Newton, will be at 10 a.m. today at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton. Private inurnment services will be at a later date.Mr. Crowe died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at Via Christi Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, in Wichita.He was born Sept. 1, 1946, in Odanah, Wis., the son of Clifford and Madeline Haskins Crowe.Mr. Crowe was a member of the Fond Du Lac Tribe and Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. He was president of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 971 in Newton and bingo chairman for the V.F.W. and American Legion in Newton. He also called bingo for the Eagle’s Club in Hutchinson. Survivors include three sons, Chris, Newton, Christopher, Lawrence, and Eddie; a daughter, Nikki Crowe, Winnebago, Neb.; two brothers, Randy and Gregg; three sisters, Mary Jo, Sandy and Mary Alice Crowe and Dale Crowe Scott; and six grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. today at the funeral home before the services.The family suggests memorials to the Boys and Girls Club, sent in care of the funeral home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.
