Beverly Kennedy

Funeral services for Beverly B. Kennedy, 81, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Plymouth Congregational Church. Private burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Kennedy died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at her home. She was born Oct. 5, 1925, in Lawrence, the daughter of Lloyd B. and Roberta Cornell Douglas. She graduated from Linwood High School.Mrs. Kennedy was co-owner of Kennedy Glass in Lawrence. She also had worked at Lawrence Paper Co., Lawrence National Bank and First National Bank, all in Lawrence.She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church, American Association of Retired Persons, American Legion Auxiliary, American Business Women’s Association, Lawrence Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Douglas County Historical Society. She married Richard M. Kennedy on Feb. 2, 1946, in Lawrence. He died July 3, 1973.Survivors include three sons, Gary, Martin and John Kennedy, all of Lawrence; two daughters, Linda Harrell, Lawrence, and Luann Flanders, Park City, Utah; a sister, Edith Oelschlaeger, Lawrence; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her companion, Chuck Boone, Lawrence.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care in Douglas County or the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment Association Capital Campaign, sent in care of the mortuary.
