Charles Fritz Snyder

Graveside services for Charles Fritz Snyder, 83, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.Mr. Snyder died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.He was born June 15, 1922, in Grand Island, Neb., the son of Charles A. and Alma H. Hapke Snyder. He attended Peru State College and the University of Nebraska. He had lived in Lawrence since 1984.He held a baseball contract with the Brooklyn Dodgers.Mr. Snyder served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, achieving the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.He worked in sales management for 45 years. He was a regional sales manager for Whitehall Laboratory in St. Louis for 10 years and later founded Chuck Snyder Sales Representatives. He also worked for Seamless Rubber Co. for six years.He was a member of the Methodist Church, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, National Association of Manufacturers Representatives, National Association of Sporting Goods Sales Representatives and National Association of Hardware Representatives.He married Shirley Mae Schuldt on Dec. 21, 1942, in Great Falls, Mont.
