Norma Ruth Benschoter

Services for Norma Ruth Benschoter, 79, Chandler, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Chandler Christian Church.Mrs. Benschoter died Friday, April 7, 2006, in Mesa, Ariz.She was born July 16, 1926, in Sarcoxie, Mo., the daughter of Jed and Louise Gilbert. She attended school in Carthage, Mo., and studied at Mesa Community College. She lived in France and Japan before moving to Arizona.Mrs. Benschoter worked at Luce Press Clippings, where she started as a reader from 1965 and retired as office manager in 1996. She was an active member of Chandler Christian Church since 1965. She sang with the Faithful Hearts and was a member of Golden Gleaners. She also was a member of Christian Women’s Fellowship.She married A.W. Benschoter on Sept. 18, 1945. He died in September 1989.Survivors include two sons, Michael G. Benschoter, Mesa, and Kevin P. Benschoter, Chandler; a daughter, Jedena L. Crawford, Oskaloosa, Kan.; seven granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church in Chandler.The family suggests memorials to the National Kidney Foundation, Arizona Humane Society or the church, sent in care of Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ 85225.
