Robert J. McGreevy

Services for Robert J. McGreevy, 79, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence. Inurnment services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.Mr. McGreevy died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.He was born July 10, 1926, in St. Benedict, the son of John and Mary Miller McGreevy.Mr. McGreevy served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a foreman for Kansas Power & Light for 38 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Dorsey-Liberty Post 14, American Legion, in Lawrence, Alford-Clarke Post 852, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Lawrence, and the Moose Lodge in Topeka. He was also a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.He married Dorothy Reichert on Oct. 4, 1949, in Seneca. She survives, of the home.Other survivors include a son, Terry L., Topeka; a daughter, Pamela K. Kelch, Lawrence; two brothers, John, Salina, and Emmett, Topeka; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence, where there will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday.The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of the mortuary.E-mail condolences may be sent to info@warrenmcelwain.com, subject: McGreevy.
