C. Dewayne Dotson

Services for C. Dewayne Dotson, 65, Lawrence, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be at later date in Nashville, Ark. Mr. Dotson died Monday, May 23, 2005, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.He was born Sept. 30, 1939, in Nashville, Ark., the son of Chester and L. Mary Puryear Dotson. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Oklahoma, where he also received a Juris Doctorate and master’s of accountancy in accounting and management. He did additional coursework at Kansas University.Mr. Dotson served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969 and was decorated 13 times within a year in Vietnam.He was an accounting and business instructor/coordinator for the Ottawa Program with Neosho County Community College in Ottawa from 1991 until his death. Previously, he was a visiting assistant professor at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y., an associate professor of accounting at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, and an accounting and business law instructor/grants and contract administration for the Center for Economic and Management Research at the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Dotson also practiced law from 1968 to 1990. He received the Glenn L. Austen Award for the best paper in educational philosophy at the commencement for the School of Education at Kansas University in 1999. He was a member of the Oklahoma Bar Assn.He married Geraldine Ting Kwok on May 26, 1988, in Norman, Okla. She survives, of the home. Other survivors include his mother, Oklahoma City.
