Universal health care for the non-English speaking .

Assumptions and guesses. Sure, quite possibly they are Spanish speaking, but no details from this report so you automatically assume that they're illegals from Latin America. You should withhold your guesses until there is evidence.

Like it or not, in effect it already exists. When they show up at the ER, the hospital is mandated to take care of them. Only now, you and I pay through the 'charity care' write off the hospital used. Indirectly, those of us with established health care pay more as our costs go up to cover those without insurance.

yep

Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act was passed in 1986 and requires hospitals to provide care to anyone needing emergency healthcare treatment regardless of citizenship, legal status or ability to pay.
The thing I find funny is this was basically the beginning of Universal Healthcare. This bill passed on the universal costs of treatment to the responsible, insurance paying citizens, while giving free care to everyone else without penalty. It was passed by a republican president, a republican senate, and a democratic house.

I want to be in the ER when anyone says: "Sorry...we've got to let you die because we can't understand what you're saying." or "Sorry...we've got to let you die because you don't have funds to cover this treatment." Save lives first...worry about the money later.
Better yet...I say we recruit anyone who has a problem with this type of "charity" and let them tell the human being, face to face, in the ER that..."Sorry...we can save your life...but we're not going to because you can't afford the care."

"worry about money later". We have been worrying about the money for decades, and still no one has come up with a better solution. This is one of the reasons our healthcare system is exorbitantly expensive.
As I said in my post above, this is basically the start of Universal Healthcare. Why don't we find a way to make everyone pay for it, instead of lumping all of these extra costs on the responsible, insurance carrying people.

This post will probably be removed, but.....You'd be surprised how many ignorant, redneck, racist hillbillies around here that would do just that. If you don't believe me read some of the comments on this message board.

It one thing if they had a heart attack or other medical emergency. Its totally different like in this case, when their own actions result in you and me paying big $ to fix them up after their own stupidity.

Or you could say that it is universal "emergency" healthcare without the benefit of follow up care or specialty care.

So now do you see why Obama wants immigration reform and to require all citizens to have health insurance?

build a fence!
we've seen a lot of crime locally by illegals. of course, dunno yet whether or not for sure these are ... but playing the numbers. ...
Hepburn 3 months, 1 week ago
Far, far more local crime by locals, not illegals. Could it be those at the hospital are the victims? Who knows at this time; not wise to gamble on assumptions.

I want to be in the ER when they patch them up, call ICE, and deport them. Then, send the bill to their home country. Who knows if they are illegal or not. Just because they don't speak English means nothing. They all want to live here, but nobody bothers to learn the language of the host upon which they are feeding.

well, turns out these two may not've been illegals.
but lot of crime committed locally by illegals, some in articles we couldn't comment on.
our homeland security secretary incompetano actually tells us that the southern border is secure? paleeze!
