Lawrence Police were kept plenty busy this morning with more than 10 disturbances and a shooting.
Most of the disturbances ended without injury or arrest however, there were a couple two that resulted in arrests. One arrest was made for criminal damage to property and another at a different scene for domestic battery.
The shooting call was reported at 3:20 a.m., with a caller reporting a subject shot and lying on the street in the 1300 block of Michigan Way. Officers arrived and located a male with a gunshot wound to the left leg. After officers had secured the scene, LDCFM entered and reported a male in his "early 20's" with a serious gunshot wound. The man was transported to LMH and later, around 5 a.m. he was transferred to KUMC in Kansas City, Kansas. Police continue to investigate and as of this report no information regarding any possible suspects has been released. At least 16 police units were assigned to the call throughout the morning.
