December 23rd Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

The morning started off fairly calm in Douglas County. Police in Lawrence conducted a number of vehicle stops. Officers also made at least one DUI arrest in Lawrence and another in Lecompton.

Shortly before 4 a.m., Lawrence Police, County Deputies and LDCFM responded to the intersection of Peterson Road and Folks Road, in west Lawrence, on reports of an injury accident. Law Enforcement found a vehicle crashed near the intersection with one occupant inside. The driver was extricated from the vehicle by LDCFM, injuries were reported to be critical. A LifeStar Helicopter responded to the northwest corner of W 6th Street & Folks Road and transported the patient to a Topeka area hospital. No other serious injuries were reported with any of this morning’s activity.
