Weekend System Update

For the last several days we have been tracking a strong system moving out of Canada. That system was originally forecast to move down the eastern slope of the Rocky Mountains and land in western Kansas by Saturday, but that forecast track has changed. The latest data indicates that this system is actually going to take a westward swing through western Colorada and eastern Utah before swinging through Kansas. With the latest track, we will keep our weekend temperatures in the low to mid 80's with our rain chances fairly low through Sunday. This system will pass to our northwest by Monday and Tuesday bringing rain chances back to the area through the beginning of next week although we don't expect our daytime highs to drop-off dramatically at that point.Stay tuned to 6 News and [LJWorld.com][1] for the latest weather information! gnome,You are correct. I don't have the numbers right at hand right now, but last month was right at or just below average, and June was as well. We have had some hefty stretches with blistering temperatures although from my many summers in Kansas, it has been much worse. Next week I will try to get in touch with the state climatologist to get the official numbers for the year.

whew! you never know what them canadians are gonna do! guess there's still time to buy batteries, stock up on toilet paper, program the weather radio, build an underground weather bunker, and of course, buy a case of spam. ***but seriously, Matt, it seems this summer has been far cooler than usual thus far. is this indeed correct?
