Brownback threatens to block Iraq nominee

Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., on Thursday said he would do everything he can to hold up confirmation of President Barack Obama's nominee to be Iraq's ambassador, Chris Hill, a former assistant secretary of state for East Asian affairs.

Brownback and four other Republican senators earlier this week sent a letter to the administration about their opposition to Hill being nominated for the post, which has been vacant since Ryan Crocker left in January.

Brownback has said Hill would need a "crash course in Iraqi affairs." He also criticized Hill's involvement in six-party talks about North Korea's nuclear disarmament, mainly for not making human rights a major issue in the talks.

The liberal vs conservative rah-rah is a tired point of view the right wing fringe echo across the am radio band and no one is listening to the chatter from the GOP's kool aid drinking choir, 8 yrs of disaster after unmitgated Bushco disaster is enough to destroy the economy as we see today, and every one is watching the GOP implode with every duplicitous act from Abromoff to Zimmerman

We should all be aware that he is coming home to run for Governor. Any opposition for the position out there?

Did any of you even read the letter that Brownback sent to Obama outlining point by point his objections to this nomination and even suggesting an alternative nominee?

Obviously not.

In a rare move, the paper even gave you an outside link to go read it first.
