Back from Thanksgiving…U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts has been much in the news lately, commenting on:The need for President Bush to push to get an intelligence reform bill passed: “I think he’s going to have to sooner or later, and he’s going to have speak with one voice. I think the administration has to speak with one voice on this.”On the timing of Iraqi elections, now planned for Jan. 30: “If you have one delay, you are going to have another delay. And if you have a delay, I think the insurgency will increase in Iraq]. I do not think it will decrease.”[On whether federal farm policies are contributing to America’s obesity epidemic: “I am not aware of any action taken by any farmer or rancher or caused by any agriculture program that has forced American consumers to go into their favorite food establishment and order the supersized number three menu item, the two appetizers preceding and the dessert following the main entree, followed by ten to 12 hours of television.”Roberts and U.S. Rep.
