KU Crime Blotter: Week of Oct. 31 through Nov. 6

The following incidents were reported to the University of Kansas Office of Public Safety between Monday, Oct. 31, and Sunday, Nov. 6. Incidents are listed by the dates they were reported.
Nov. 6
• Someone vandalized the Alumni Place Fountain, leaving it broken in several pieces, between Nov. 4 and Nov. 6. Damage was estimated at $1,000. (See related story here.)

Nov. 5
• Someone cut a lock and stole a bicycle from a bike rack between Oct. 23 and Nov. 5 at GSP Hall. Loss was valued at $300. Damage was estimated at $30.
Nov. 4
• An assault occurred about 4:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at Anschutz Library. The suspect knocked the victim’s hat off his head and threatened to beat him up. The case was sent to the prosecutor for review.
• Theft by deception occurred between Nov. 1 and Nov. 4. The victim sent a computer to someone who did not pay. Loss was valued at $1,489.
Nov. 3
• Someone stole a speaker from an unlocked dorm room while the occupant was at class Nov. 2 at Ellsworth Hall. Loss was valued at $220.
• Someone stole a bicycle Nov. 3 from the rack north of Allen Fieldhouse. Loss was valued at $320.
• Someone stole a registration sticker from a vehicle license plate between Oct. 3 and Nov. 3 in Lot 300, 1600 block of Stewart Drive.
Nov. 1
• A motorcycle mirror was broken off Oct. 31 or Nov. 1 in Lot 90, 1800 block of Naismith Drive. Damage was estimated at $100.
Oct. 31
• Someone broke open a tool box and removed the contents at a construction site between Oct. 28 and Oct. 31 at Lot 112, 1800 block of Naismith Drive. Loss was valued at $1,565. Damage was estimated at $100.
• Someone removed various tools from a construction site between Oct. 28 and Oct. 31 at Lot 112, 1800 block of Naismith Drive. Loss was valued at $1,650.
• Someone spray-painted an electric box with graffiti between Oct. 24 and Oct. 31 at Spooner Hall. Damage was estimated at $50.
• Someone stole a bicycle and cable lock from the bike rack between Oct. 28 and Oct. 31 at Templin Hall. Loss was valued at $440.
• Someone stole headphones left in a lobby Oct. 30 at Hashinger Hall. Loss was valued at $120.
• Someone stole a misplaced wallet Oct. 30 at the Kansas Union. Loss was valued at $55.

Oct. 27
• A sexual offense involving two victims occurred Oct. 27 in the 1800 block of Naismith Drive. A man allegedly sexually battered one female student and attempted to rape another female student. He was arrested. (See related story here.)
Oct. 22
• Intimidation and breach of privacy occurred between March 27 and Oct. 26 on campus at large. Someone allegedly distributed nude photos of a person without that person’s consent. (See related story here.)
