Douglas County Democrats to hold campaign kickoff

Douglas County Democrats will hold a campaign kick-off on Saturday as part of a statewide campaign to encourage voters to cast advance ballots.

The event, which starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 New Hampshire St., will kick off the party’s 2014 “field plan” aimed at increasing Democratic turnout in the 2014 elections.

“Democrats all over Kansas will be reaching out to their Democratic neighbors with Applications for Advance Ballots to make it easy for them to vote,” party officials said in a news release.

Kansas voters will cast ballots Nov. 4 for governor and all other statewide elected offices; one U.S. Senate seat; all four U.S. House seats; and all 125 Kansas House of Representatives seats.
