OK, forget all that nonsense about the sub-par Hosea being named last season’s winner of “Top Chef.” Tonight begins a spin-off series called “Top Chef Masters” where 24, ahem, REAL chefs compete for $100,000 for the charity of their choice.

The first six episodes will consist of six name chefs — including Wylie Dufresne and Rick Bayless, who are easily more famous than any of the judges — competing against each other to be that episode’s winner. Those six winners will then meet up for the final four episodes, where one person will be eliminated until there is one chef standing.
