There the LJW goes again with unintentionally or intentionally dissing the republican candidate - either say Barack Obama and Mitt Romney or President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney. To be inconsistent in the matter demonstrates questionable fairness.
beatrice 8 months, 1 week ago
For argument's sake, Obama IS president, while Romney WAS governor, so it is accurate as it is. Should it be "Former governor ..."?
Alex Parker 8 months, 1 week ago
The Associated Press refers to Romney either as "Mitt Romney" or "Republican nominee Mitt Romney." So that's what we're going with. It's not an issue of fairness; it's an issue of style and consistency. We are consistent in referring to Romney this way in our coverage. If Romney were still governor, we would use his elected title.
notajayhawk 7 months, 3 weeks ago
So, just out of curiosity, Alex, when you talk about Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton, do you use THEIR former titles, or just Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter?
Just wondering if you're going to be calling the guy Barack or former president Obama in a couple of weeks.

Hill sort of threw the Mope under the bus recently. "..WASHINGTON — The State Department said Tuesday it never concluded that the consulate attack in Libya stemmed from protests over an American-made video ridiculing Islam, raising further questions about why the Obama administration used that explanation for more than a week after assailants killed the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans. The revelation came as new documents suggested internal disagreement over appropriate levels of security before the attack, which occurred on the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks on the U.S..." http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/embassy-in-libya-sought-and-received-extension-of-security-team-beyond-scheduled-deployment/2012/10/08/1482a77e-11a8-11e2-9a39-1f5a7f6fe945_story.html

You do know that thinking people stop reading your comments as soon as they see "mope," don't you? Boring, childish and repetetive. Yawn.

Why did your GOP have a hand in killing our American Ambassador? "Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) acknowledged on Wednesday that House Republicans had consciously voted to reduce the funds allocated to the State Department for embassy security since winning the majority in 2010"

"For the past two years, House Republicans have continued to deprioritize the security forces protecting State Department personnel around the world. In fiscal year 2011, lawmakers shaved $128 million off of the administration's request for embassy security funding. House Republicans drained off even more funds in fiscal year 2012 -- cutting back on the department's request by $331 million.
Consulate personnel stationed in Benghazi had allegedly expressed concerns over their safety in the months leading up to the Sept. 11 attacks that killed four Americans, including Amb. Chris Stevens. Chaffetz and Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), who chairs the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, claim those concerns were ignored."

Well I certainly hope she protects the White House better than she did our ambassador.

I'm sure you said the same about Condolezza Rice when more than 3,000 Americans were killed on American soil on Sept. 11.

I pitty the fool.......Tell your GOPers to stop KILLING Americans!!! President Obama will win re-election. I have correctly picked the winner of every presidential general election since 1964. Just sayin'. I thought my streak was in jeopardy with Bush vs Gore but unfortunately it continued.

But will it be Hillary or Rubio in 2016?
DoubtingThomas 8 months, 1 week ago
If Rubio were to defect and get on the Ballot as Vice Presidential Candidate to Presidential Candidate, Hillary Clinton, I would say the odds would be in there favor. I just don"t see Rubio as a Defector and no one is sure if Hillary will run. If the Republicans Nominate Rubio as a Presidential Candidate(assuming Romney looses this election) that has to run against Hillary, My money is on her.

The President will win, barely. Ohio is the key. Keep an eye on the voting machines. Remember 2004 when they cooked the software books to guarantee W's win.
none2 7 months, 2 weeks ago
I really find it hard to believe that Obama will win. Obama's base isn't as geared up to vote for him as they are concerned about various money issues. I don't believe a US President can solve that many things anymore given that we live in a very global economy, yet that belief persists for many. Given this predominate belief and the fact that things aren't the greatest, they just aren't as energized to vote.
Whereas on the other hand, there are just too many right radical people who literally hate Obama. There isn't anything he could do or anything anyone could say to change their minds. They will be out in droves.
