I'm not voting for him, but I expect Brownback to win. Sigh.

Same here.

Don't blame me I'm voting for Joan Heffington!

I can't believe they found 44 people (as of this writing) that think Holland will win. Perhaps they misread the question - it wasn't 'Who do you want to win', it was 'Who WILL win?'

No doubt. That's what I call the delusional left. Living in fairy tale land!

Wow, and as of now, there's 36 votes for Gray.
Wonder if that's more than he'll get in the general election.

Yes, I'm sure the vast majority answer for who they want to have win, and not who they think really will win. Every Sunday AM, the political talking heads on TV pontificate about such nonsense, and to a person, each always claims to believe that the candidate he or she favors will win.
People are so ingrained to the notion of winning at all cost that they will subjugate their logic and common sense to promote their candidate of choice. Who wants to vote for a loser? Why ignore the power of positive thinking?
This is why incumbents usually have a huge advantage. People think the ballot is some kind of test: Who IS in office, and not who SHOULD BE in office?
It is also a reason alternative political parties can't get much traction. The public schools brainwash our children that everyone is either Republican or Democrat. This is an inflammatory lie, but it serves the authoritarian interests of the public school system.
There will be no constructive political change in this country until people wake up and realize that voting for either major party is voting for more of the same, and is counterproductive.

Good point! bliddel. And so... Brownback will win just because he has the "republican" ticket. Kansas will elect a career politician that has his pockets full of interest groups. He could win with his entire platform on "I'm Sam Brownback and I'm a replublican". The only relevant information on his website is his biography, if that's relevant. Same goes for Holland. If this election were based solely on character, platform, delivery, education, and willingness to serve Kansan’s, Cannon clearly would be our next governor. Yet, he won't even draw 5% vote.

Any town that keeps sending Barbara Ballard to Topeka is obviously bereft of ANY common sense. What a goofball!

If you vote for Brownback, Kansas will only have a Governor for 1 year and then he will spend 100% of his time running for President again. After all, that is his real goal in life and he knows he will never win that one but it is the thrill of the chase that turns him on.

If we have to have another Republican Conservative as Governor I wish it was Pat Roberts. The guy is amazingly astute and hilarious.
Brownback just seems like a space cadet.
Win or lose, this should be the end of the road for him.
funkdog1 2 years, 6 months ago
Agree wholeheartedly. Pat Roberts is miles ahead of Sam Brownback, though I disagree with them both politically.

Some robot has been calling democrats and telling them they need to bring an id and voter registration card to vote. I would prefer Brownback and his old DC pals call me personally or better stop by. I am tired of the mean and meaningless rhetoric. What is he going to do? Just continue hating "the other side" fear and hate won't generate Kansas jobs.

Only 38 votes could put Hollond in the lead! Come on people, it's time to show Brownback he is not a shoe-in, like he thinks.
notajayhawk 2 years, 6 months ago
Don't think he was counting on carrying Lawrence anyway.
Or that he needs to.
jesse499 2 years, 6 months ago
As lonk as Brownback is out of Washington he did not do anything there so he won't do anything in Topeka except get another life retirement for doing nothing.
