Hatred of Duke started when they knocked off the Fab Five (my first favorite team as a 13 year old), and got cemented two years later with Laetner's impossible shot. Just been reinforced, periodically, since then.
Feels kind of inevitable though. Butler has too many good things going for them with a win for them to, well, win against Duke. Considering that the Yankees won the last World Series, and the Lakers won the last NBA championship, you'd be a fool if you couldn't see Satan's hand on sports right now.
Except maybe for Football. The Colts and Florida lost last year, so perhaps God has not forsaken us entirely. But he seems to be a single-sport fan right now, is all.
