Easy_Does_It (Anonymous) says: "cooler temps were predicted as a part of global warming, no surprise here."Apparently global warming predicts BOTH warmer and cooler temperatures and therefore can never be challenged by or always be supported by facts, no surprise here. But weather (as opposed to climate) is almost always colder or warmer than the average, that is the nature of statistics. After all, how many families have you seen with the average 2.1 childrens?

Global warming causes ignorance. Or is it the other way around? All I know is that one person's hot is another person's cold, especially if the person you're hot for has a cold or flu. Check their forehead to see if they're hot before any physical contact. Don't trust your eyes...or any weather forecast...or corn.

It'll be basketball season, so I probably won't notice.

Curtis Lange 9 years, 8 months ago

No, I do not believe it will be colder or wetter than normal. I expect it will be exactly that, normal.

lol @ bartstop. There is science behind the fact that any major temperature increase COULD bring about a dramatic cooling of the planet. It has happened before and it will happen again. Earth goes through cycles; it always has and always will...with us here or not. There was also a story not too long ago that Arctic ice has actually INCREASED. Not to mention the finding of underwater volcanoes beneath ice to the north which is having an effect on the ice shelves.Humans want to take a lot of the credit for screwing the planet up when we actually are playing but a minuscule part in working's of this planet. Shoot, I wouldn't be surprised to see new data come out soon that shows we are actually harming the planet MORE by trying to stop the harm we think we're doing. How can we "fix" the planet when we don't truly know how it fully operates? Fixing one problem could very well cause three additional more serious problems.Global warming is a bunch of bull and you have obviously bought into the hype. Should we conserve our natural resources? Of course. Should we stop sending harmful gases into the atmosphere? Absolutely. It is kind of funny though that the 40 plus year temperature increase caused by that evil nemesis Global Warming was wiped out between Jan 07 and Jan 08.

Those of you that post comments about like - "cooler temps were predicted as a part of global warming, no surprise here." - are really showing your ignorance on the issue. Obviously you have internet access, use it, and you will see how idiotic your post really was. But then, I wouldn't expect you to turn off Nascar/American Idol/NFL and actually do something that would broaden your mind. Go ahead, keep believing the GOP. Never mind the fact that the Oil Companies have financed their campaigns and kept them in power. Never mind the fact that the arctic ice cap is almost gone. Never mind that sea levels have risen. Never mind that some islands in the Pacific actually become submerged during high tides. Besides, scientists are a bunch of idiots, right? Who would believe them? GOD will save us all anyways.People like you deserve $4/gal gas, banks foreclosing on your house, out of control inflation and politicians that convince you that they have helped make your life better when they've actually lowered your standard of living.People like you are what's wrong with this country.

A butterfly flaps its wings in Peru and in Wyoming, everyone's toast is burned the next morning. Believe it or not!

The global temperature decrease from Jan 2007 to Jan 2008 actually wiped out 100 years of temp increases, not 40 yrs.
