People who haven't decided yet have no moral compass to guide them. If they can be swayed by balloons and striped hats, well....

I would like to think that at both conventions something interesting would happen--like totally NEW candidates would be selected, but--dream on!! So I will have to say that they will play a small part in my voting. Not having TV, I will not probably see much of the conventions, but they are not nearly as interesting as they used to be many years ago.

Ag - this country has become far more polarized since George Washington took office, even more so in the past 30 years. If you are suggesting there is a viable third party out there, do tell. If people today don't know if they believe in universal health care or if their money should go to the Pentagon, war in Iraq or not, favoring big business over the consumer or not, etc, etc, etc, then they really have no business voting. Perhaps that's why half of America doesn't.

"What impact will the political conventions have...?"... just another little crater in the Sea of Tranquility.

As Canyon_wren alluded to, unless the conventions were to select different candidates than the ones we have now, they will make absolutely no difference. And if, by some blockbuster twist of fate, Hillary replaced Obama on the Democrat's side, it still would make absolutely no difference.

Not surprised, glockowner--guys with guns have had it in for the Kennedy boys for nearly 50 years. Even longer if you count brother Joe and those Axis fighters.

The Dems and Repubs are giving all of us a great excuse to turn off the TV.
