Dont' know about the dumbest - yesterday's "are parking meter fines high enough" question really gives it a run for the money.

How about "not enough good bands." Why is their headlining act always a lesser-known band (except maybe Wilco two years ago).

well you dont have to worry about the national guard showing up....LoL will there be a recruitment booth for the trip to the ultimate sand castle?

What about Little Feat? They were awesome in 2005 - FAT MAN IN THE BATHTUB, yeah! And Yonder Mountain String Band is back, they played a set with Bela Fleck & the Flecktones last year, who brought in Victor Wooten on bass, phenomenal! Headliners aren't all that, anyway, the appeal for me is the variety of musical tastes that can be satisfied. Check out the website for a taste of the music (www.wakarusa.com), and check out some of those lesser-known bands - Tea Leaf Green, Railroad Earth, Trampled By Turtles, MOFRO, Four Fried Chickens & a Coke, New Monsoon, The Be Good Tanyas, just to name a few. Not too mention, the variety of venues - two main stages, the revival tent, the campground stage, the homegrown stage, and open jams on the Porch. Many of the bands that are scheduled will be at Bonnaroo the weekend following, and WakFest is highly respected among festival aficianados. BTW, I want to know - for the people who choose "Too many hippies," how many of them actually attended any part of the festival? I've been three years in a row now, and I would estimate the hippie proportion to be less than 25% of festival goers. Expand your horizons and change your perspective! I'm ready!

how's come nobody has mentioned the asylum street spankers??? they're gonna be at the wak on sunday-now, if i could just either score free or AFFORD a single day pass, i'd be ecstatic! :(

Wakarusa is a decent substitute for Bonaroo (in terms of proximity). What does it matter, I am too old for these Hippie conventions, anyway.

You're only as young as you feel preebo. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, I feel old too, but I'm still gonna roll my old bones down to Wak this weekend and "twirl" for several hours. I love the atmosphere at the festival. The people who think it's all about drugs, sex and booze have no idea at all. But those are the same folks who grumble at everything and everyone, have no tolerance for any sort of differences and spend all their free time yelling "you damned kids get off my lawn!!" So, they can stay home, because we "hippies" don't really want them there anyway. They harsh our mellow, man.

Its a great festival and sounds like fun. I don't want to go camp or listen to loud music but bless them that do. I don't hate groups like the hippies. i love their music and think they have a lot to offer. Flower power was my favorite, then when they came out with War no more. wow. But the 'Mind your business and keep out of mine is a classic.
