Letter to the editor: Renaming a pity
To the editor:
The “David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium” commemorates that stadium to Mr. Booth, who has generously given millions to KU Athletics. But the original “Memorial” part of that name comes from the University of Kansas’ wish to commemorate and remember all KU students, faculty, staff and alumni who died in World War I. This new name obliterates the honoring of those who sacrificed their lives in that war. What a pity.
