To the editor:

Democracy is hard work. Why is Democracy losing out in some places? One reason apparently is that it’s just easier to vote for Mr. Big.

I went to my first political party last week. (I’m sure anyone who knows me knows which party, but that’s not the point). I stand in shame that I have arrived at old age before doing this. I’ve been busy. There are important issues that I disagree with the majority fellow party members on. Isn’t it better to work on the specific issue?

Meanwhile, people were renting buildings and passing out leaflets and sending out ad campaigns.

What you want will only happen through group effort, and in some cases the relevant group is the party. All of us, get down to work and do it!
