Angela V. Holliday

Angela V. Holliday died September 3, 2017 in California. Her service will be held at RumseyYost Funeral Home on Friday, September 15th at 5:00pm with a visitation one hour prior to the service. A private burial will take place Saturday, September 16th at Belle Plaine, KS. She was born March 23, 1918 in Alliance, Nebraska to Orville Harrison Bremer and Nellie Josephine Broman on their farm. She was the fourth of six children. She had five brothers, Joseph Howard Wilson, Orville Leanard Jr., Harold Wilson, Walter Edward, andWilliam Fredrick. Angela graduated Alliance High School on May 28, 1937. After graduating she worked as an apprentice in a beauty shop in Alliance for 1 year. She used her mother as a model in part of her examinations at Lincoln, Nebraska. One day while out front of the beauty parlor she was apprenticing at, her future husband, Williard Wendell Jones walked by, stopped to talk to her, and asked her out. She married Williard Jones On May 7, 1939. They resided in Lawrence, KS for over 50 years. Williard died April 23, 1979. She began working as a beautician in her home in 1939, shortly before her son, Lloyd Wendell Jones was born on November 22, 1939. She went on to work in her home until 1979. On November 1, 1979 she married A. Owen Holliday. He died January 4, 1995. She spent 1995 and 1996 traveling the United States with her son, visiting numerous family and friends. She later married Dr. Leland Price Randels in May of 1997 and he died in the spring of 2000. From 1997 to 2004, she cruised around the world with her son Lloyd. Their many destinations included the Western and Eastern Caribbean, Scandinavia, Russia, London, England, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. They also traveled the Mexican Riviera, and the Mediterranean Greek Isle. They also went to Oceana and went on the Lewis and Clarke river boat cruise. Their travels also included cruises to Alaska and Hawaii and the Canadian Rail Adventure. From 2005 to 2008 her granddaughter Chapelaine assisted Angela in her travels to California to spend time with Lloyd. On August 1, 2013 she moved to California to live with Chapelaine and Phil McComiskey at their Temecula home. In May of 2017 she began residing in Atria Assisted Living, where she lived for the remainder of her life. She had three Grandchildren, Chapelaine McComiskey , Katherine Ann Wilcox, and Michelle Lynn (March 5, 1974June 1990); Three greatgrandchildren, Adam James Kristunas and Chas Colton Jaehn, (both Chapelaine’s sons), and Thurmond Andrew Bell III (Katherine’s son). She also had two greatgreat grandchildren, Kira Linette and Kalleah Rae Kristunas. The family suggests memorial contributions to the College of the Ozarks sent in care of RumseyYost Funeral Home, 601 Indiana St., Box 1260, Lawrence, KS 66044.
