Ramesh Thippavajjala

Ramesh Thippavajjala, (81) Lawrence, died on July 21, 2016 at his daughter’s home, surrounded by family. The family has planned for cremation. He was born November 20, 1934 in Guntur, India the son of Subramanya Sastry and Subaravamma Thippavajjala. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Kansas. He was a retired Professor of English and taught at Andhra University and Northern Kentucky University. A brilliant scholar and awardwinning teacher, he made a difference in the lives of his many colleagues and students. He is survived by his loving wife, Padma Thippavajjala; daughter, Neeli Bendapudi, son¬inlaw, Venkat Bendapudi, their daughter, Sirisha and her husband, Kyle Ladd; daughter, Gowri Prabala, son¬in¬law, Ashok Prabala, their sons, Rahul and Nikhil; daughter, Chitra Pidaparti, son¬in¬law, Ramana Pidaparti, and their children, Rohan and Reena. His siblings, Kamala, Sankar, Lalitha, Bala, Srinivas, and Narasimham, and their families were a great source of joy and pride for him. This gentle and enlightened soul was surrounded by loving family and friends as he completed life’s journey to merge with the Divine. The family suggests memorial contributions in his name to the English Department at the University of Kansas or to the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of WarrenMcElwain Mortuary.
