Joyce Littleton

Joyce Littleton passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 in Lawrence, Ks.

She was born October 15, 1939 in Wichita, Ks. to Albert Earle & Bula MacNaughton and was known

by her father as his “Little Dutchman.” She retired in 2001 after 33 years with the Santa Fe Railroad

as an Interchange Clerk where she was much loved by her co-workers who called her “Tokyo Rose”

and “Sister Bird Legs.”

She devoted her life to raising her three girls and spending time with them, her grandchildren, great-grand

children, and, many special friends. She was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad and Airline Clerks

(BRAC) and was the union secretary at Santa Fe RR and was proud that she could type 200 words per minute.

She loved politics and was a staunch Democrat. She loved to travel, square dance, gamble and watch KU basketball,

the Chiefs & the Royals. Her life wish was to “hit the big one” and win the Power Ball to give to her family, but her luck

ran out…….Her family called her “Drag boat Granny” when driving her daughter Christy’s speedboat on Clinton Lake in Lawrence.

Joyce is survived by her daughters Stephanie Littleton & wife Margaret Warner, Dee Ann Foster & Fiance’ Howard

Cooper, Dee Ann’s children, Natalie (Chris) Rich and Curtis (Jessica) Samer and their children Paxton & Wyatt;

grandson, Dustan Vance (Sara Marie) Sprowls and their children Brysan Michael, Riley Jo and Mykah Louise and

granddaughter Shannon Wallace and her son Dakota. Joyce is also survived by three sisters, Joan (Eddie) McGregor,

Karen Clothier, and Sharon (Ron) White. The family expresses their appreciation for the care their mother received from

Dr. Joan Brunfeldt, VNA Hospice, and Brandon Woods. A Celebration of Joyce’s Life (potluck) will be held at 11am on

Saturday, October 10th at Dad Perry Park Shelter, 1200 Monterey Way, in Lawrence Ks. Please wear your sports memorabilia

in her honor to send her off in her sporting style!
