Reginald Clement Buxton

Reginald “Reggie” C. Buxton, 97, of Ransom, Kansas passed away in Mesa, Az on Oct 2, 2013. Born Feb 23, 1916 in Utica, Kansas to Richard C. and Anna Buxton, he lived his life in the Kansas towns of Ransom, Ellinwood, and Lawrence.
Reggie graduated from Ransom High School, completed his degree in Journalism from Kansas University, was editor of KU’s newspaper and later in life got a Masters Degree in Library Science from Fort Hays State. He ran the library for Ellinwood High School until his retirement. He was a newspaper man, served four years in the Army Air Corp owned a movie theater and farmed his land, but his real passions in life were history, reading,studying different philosophical points of view, debating with friends, flower gardening and sharing his flowers and expertise with neighbors and friends. He was a loving devoted husband and father who was generous and genuine with us all.
Reggie was extremely proud of his wife Vera (deceased July 1999) and his three children, Paul Buxton, Kim Dennis, and Scot Buxton and his five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He had a wall of pictures always in front of him so could show his family to anyone who visited him.
There will be a private family inurnment at the Ransom cemetery beside Vera, the love of his life. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Banner Hospice, 275 E Germann Rd #110, Gilbert Az 85297.
