William Jon Stouppe

Jon Stouppe of Highland Village, TX passed away March 16, 2013 at the age of 75. He was born November 20, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA to Hugh and Olive Stouppe. Jon married the love of his life, Marilyn Barkley, on October 2, 1955 in Baldwin City, KS. While attending Baker University, Jon was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. As a successful regional manager in the electronics profession for Gardner Denver, Amistar, Philips and PACE, Jon traveled extensively in the US, Mexico, the Netherlands, the Caribbean Islands and numerous South American countries. With a passion for the outdoors, Jon lived his life to the fullest enjoying his hobbies of cycling, hiking, camping, rock climbing, and sailing. Loving photography, he captured his adventures in pictures which family and friends often view and enjoy. Jon retired in 2000 and continued his enjoyment of traveling with trips to Hawaii, New Zealand, China, Australia and his homeland of Ireland.
Jon was an extremely loving husband and proud father. He was a model big brother to his 5 younger sisters. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marilyn; daughters, Deborah Vogel and husband Dave and Shelley Easler and husband Jim; son, Hugh Stouppe; sisters, Janet Payne, Grace Jolly and Ruth Parker and husband Jay; 9 grandchildren, Christa, Kellee, Marcee, Jeffrey, Samantha, Janet, Patrick, Rachael and Elika; 6 great grandchildren, Sarah Jane, Bailee, Raelynn, Skylar, Austen and Mackenzie; numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Molly Simpson and Sue Castro. Graveside memorial service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Baldwin City, Kansas June 8, 2013.
