Eileen L. Martin 1931 - 2013 Lawrence
Memorial services for Eileen L. Martin, 81, Lawrence, will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at First United Methodist Church. She died Friday, March 15, 2013 at her home.
Eileen was born on December 19, 1931 in Osage City, KS the daughter of Sidney O. and Eunice (Cooley) Morris.
She was a high school teacher in Newton and Wellsville, KS until she retired in 1990.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Sigma Alpha Tau Sorority.
Eileen married Donald Eugene Martin on November 28, 1962 in Yates Center, KS. He preceded her in death February 14, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Dianna L. Martin, her parents and a brother, Sidney A. Morris.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeanne E .(Ronald) Morrison, Louisville, KY, Carol A. (Steven) Woods, Longmont, CO; two sons, Stanley R. (Jean) Martin,
Perry, KS, Michael S. (Sheri) Martin, Lawrence; seventeen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one brother, Donald P. Morris, Overland Park, KS.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2013 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to First United Methodist Church or to Grace Hospice and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
