Mildred “Frances” Nitsch

Private family memorial services for Mildred “Frances” Nitsch, 89, Lawrence will be held at a later date. She died on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Baldwin Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
Frances was born on July 2, 1923 in Homewood, KS, the daughter of Egbert and Leta (Wilcox) Holloway.
She was the manager of a KOA campground and retired in 1987. She also worked for Friend & Myrick in Joplin, MO for 10 years.
She enjoyed quilting and horseback riding. In her “younger” years, she was a Sunday school teacher and a Girl Scout leader.
She was married to Brice Allen on March 29, 1940 in Oskaloosa, KS. They later divorced. She then married Henry W. “Hank” Nitsch on June 17, 1968 in Nelson, NE. He preceded her in death November 16, 1996.
Survivors include one daughter, Kandie, and husband, Gary Koehler, Baldwin City, KS; one son, Roy Allen, and wife, Cheryl, Hutchinson; two stepsons, Ronald Nitsch, Wichita, KS, Larry Nitsch, Englewood, CO; one half brother, Leonard Mitchell, and wife, Cherie, Scranton, KS; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by son, Sonny Allen; one daughter, Nancy Allen; and brother, Egbert Holloway, Jr.
The family suggests memorials in her name to the CLO’s Midnight Farm and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
