Melva Jean “Tudy” Sneed 1931 - 2013 Lawrence
Mass of Christian Burial for Melva Jean “Tudy” Sneed, 81, Lawrence will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013, at St. Anthony / St. Rose Catholic Community, 210 North B Street, Wellington, KS 67512. Burial will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens in Wellington. She died on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Melva was born on December 23, 1931 in Wellington, KS, the daughter of Lee Roy and Nora (Burns) McEachern.
She was a member of the St. Anthony / St. Rose Alter Society and the Sumner County Democratic party and a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence.
Melva was married to Wayne Earl Sneed on December 27, 1952. He preceded her in death on February 25, 1990.
Survivors include one daughter, Angie McClure, and husband, Darren, Lawrence; four sons, Bill Sneed and wife, Diane, Topeka, KS, David Sneed, Topeka, Jeff Sneed and wife, Neana, Wellington, Mark Sneed and wife, Karen, Lenexa; Sister-in-law, Geraldine McEachern; brother-in-law, Galen Lamb; nine grandchildren,
Sarah and Tanner Sneed, Arielle Horsch and Olivia Sneed, Jackson and Rigby McClure, Annie, Mitch and Monica Sneed; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, including her twin brother; and four sisters.
A Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony / St. Rose Catholic Community.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in her name to the Mission Thrift Shop or the St. Anthony / St. Rose Catholic Community and may be sent in care of Warren- McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
