Frances Jean Typer 1935 - 2013 Lawrence
Memorial services for Frances Jean Typer, 77, Lawrence will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Presbyterian Manor in Lawrence. Private family burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence. She died on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Presbyterian Manor.
Frances was born on December 15, 1935 in Ft. Scott, KS the daughter of Goodrich and Edna (Longley) McCain.
She graduated from high school in Ft. Scott, KS and attended Ft. Scott Community College.
She worked for the Western Insurance Company in Ft. Scott, KS and Wichita, KS. In Hesston, she worked as an insurance agent for Friesen Ruth Typer.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ft. Scott, Hesston, and in Lawrence. She was also a member of Phi Beta Phi in Wichita, KS.
She loved music and enjoyed dancing in her youth. She married Donald R. Typer on April 1, 1956 in Ft. Scott, KS and later divorced.
Survivors include two daughters, Kim A. Ens, and husband, James, Lawrence; Jennifer K. Burdett, Fayetteville, NC; four grandchildren, Nick Ens, San Francisco, CA, Jesse Ens, Lawrence, Diedra and Nicole Burdett, Fayetteville, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenny.
The family suggests memorials in her name to the Lawrence Presbyterian Manor–Good Samaritan Fund, Visiting Nurses Hospice, or Multiple Sclerosis Society–Mid-America Chapter and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
