Ruth Winifred Lamke 1910 - 2013 Lawrence

Ruth Winifred Lamke

Services for Ruth W. Lamke, 102, Lawrence, will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1245 New Hampshire, at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013. A visitation for family and friends will follow the service.
Ms. Lamke died Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community.
She was born October 25, 1910 in Russell, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Iola Burhle. She graduated from Waldo High School.
Ms. Lamke worked at the Robinson Gymnasium on the University of Kansas campus for many years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, and spending time with family and friends.
She married Frank Salber in 1935. He died in 1972. She married Roy Lamke in 1979. He died in 1998.
Survivors include a son, Gene Salber and wife Jeanne of West St. Paul, MN; daughter-in- law, Carol Ann Salber of Lawrence, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald “Bud” Salber in 2008.
Inurnment will be at a future date in Russell, Kansas.
The family suggests memorials to Grace Hospice, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home & Crematory, PO Box 1260, Lawrence, KS 66044.
The family wishes to thank both the staff at Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community, as well as Grace Hospice, for their loving care of Ruth.
