Burial was at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Grove, KS. She died on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Porter Hospice Residence in Centennial, CO.
Joy was born on September 9, 1929 in Richland MO, the youngest of six children of Clyde Lee and Fatima Ruth (Greeley) Clark.

Joy worked for many years as a Registered Nurse and loved caring for newborn children in OB units in various hospitals in several states. Joy continued serving others after David’s death and volunteered in the Lawrence community with MOPS and the Pregnancy Care Center of Lawrence.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathleen Litton, and husband Randy, LaDon Birk, Littleton, CO, Coleen Jeffery, and husband Dennis, Lakewood, CO; one son, David A. Foster, and wife, Joy, Athens, MI; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one brother, Lorel Clark, Belridge, MO. The family will receive friends after the service Friday at the church.
The family suggests memorials in Joy’s name to “Friends of Hope Africa University”, P.O. Box 580, Spring Arbor, MI 49283 and may be sent to the Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
