Frank J. Sosinski

FRANK J. SOSINSKI – Olathe, KS passed away after a brief illness on December 31, 2012. Frank was born on December 17th 1926 to Dominic and Sophia (Bocek) Sosinski. He attended school and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kansas for over sixty years before moving to Mission in 1990, where he was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church until 2007. At St. Joseph’s Frank actively participated in Boy Scout activities with Troop 215, bowling at the PRCU lanes and assisting in church maintenance activities as a member of the Hall Committee. After retirement Frank enjoyed golfing with his friends especially in the annual Polish Golf tournament at Sunflower Hills. Since 2007, Frank has been a resident of Santa Marta Senior Living Community.
Frank retired in 1989 after 38 years of employment as a pressman at Deluxe Check Printers in Lenexa, Kansas. He was proud of his association with Deluxe and was very proud of taking less than a dozen sick days during his time of employment. He appreciated the care that Deluxe showed to their employees and also enjoyed playing for the company softball team and in the company golf league.
Frank enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 in 1944 and served on the USS Yorktown as part of the flight deck crew in the Pacific Theater until the end of the war.
Frank married Catherine Sachen of Kansas City, Kansas. They celebrated their sixty-third wedding anniversary in October of 2012. Franks greatest passion in life was being a husband, father and grandfather.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and half sisters: Clementine Coniglio, Alice Bade, Cecilia Gilmore, Felicia Bromirski, and half brother Dzislaw Bromirski.
Besides his wife, Frank is survived by his three sons: Dr. Richard Sosinski (Aynsley Anderson) Lawrence Kansas, Tim (Geralyn) Sosinski (KC, KS.), Dave (Teresa ) Sosinski (KC, MO) and his sister Rose Smigin (Frank) (KC.KS.)
Frank also leaves nine grandchildren: Ben (Michaelle), Jeff, Michael, Bernadette Mitchell (Dwayne), Kristen, Lauren, Dominic, Abigail and Alex. He also leaves one great grandson, Daijon.
The Sosinski family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of the Santa Marta Memory Unit, Sacred Heart Private Duty Care and Catholic Community Hospice and their volunteers.
Visitation will Saturday, January 5th, at 9:00 AM at St. Peter’s Cathedral, 409 N. 15th Street, Kansas City, Kansas followed immediately by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30.
