Helen Bennett 1921 - 2013 Lawrence

Memorial services for Helen Bennett, 91, Lawrence, will be held at a later date in South Bend, Indiana. She died on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Brandon Woods at Alvamar. Mrs. Bennett had recently moved to Lawrence from South Bend, Indiana, where she had lived for over 30 years.
Helen was born on November 13, 1921 in Murphysboro, IL the daughter of James Leon and Nellie D. (Teague) McCraw.
She held multiple positions at the University of Notre Dame, one of which was a receptionist for campus ministry in the Development Department.
Helen was married to Richard “Dick” Bennett on December 28, 1941 in Springfield, IL. He preceded her in death May 28, 2010. She was also preceded in death by a son, Dick Bennett.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Seager, Lawrence; four grandchildren, Wendy Rea, David Seager, Kim Griffin, Kelly Peterson; and nine great grandchildren, Heather, Gavin, Allison, Jared, Bennett, Connor, Sara, Mason, and Griffin.
The family suggests memorials in her name to the Grace Hospice and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
