Dr. James E. Roderick, Jr. 1923 - 2012 Salina
Dr. James E. Roderick, Jr., 89, Salina, died Sept 10, 2012. He was born Feb. 18, 1923 in Wetmore, Ks. the son of Marsena (Lapham) and James E. Roderick, Sr. He was a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine, c49, Beta Theta Pi fraternity and a guard on the 1943 Big 6 Championship Jayhawk Basketball team. He served in the U.S. Eighth Army during the Korean Conflict and returned to Salina, Ks where he founded Salina Urology Associates, P.A.
He is preceded in death by his spouse of 62 years, Nancy Tomlinson Roderick, 2009, and a son, David, 2010.
He is survived by four children, Rees Olander, John “Tom” Roderick, Melinda M. Roderick Besnoin, Richard A. Roderick, 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, a sister, Ina Katherine Lasley Wells.
Memorial will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 at Christ Episcopal Cathedral, Salina, Ks.
