Lawrence (Larry) Charles Froelich Jr. 1951 - 2012 Tecumseh
Larry C. Froelich, 61, of Tecumseh, passed away on Tuesday, September 18th at home, surrounded by his family and under the care of Midland Hospice. Larry (known as ‘Bud’ to his family) was born on June 16, 1951, in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Larry C. and Dorothy (Durkin) Froelich. On Feb. 4, 2012, he married Rhonda Eisenhart. Since 2005, they have owned and operated Meriden Pharmacy, Meriden, KS.
Larry is a graduate of Hayden High School (1969) and the University of Kansas, School of Pharmacy (1977). In addition to working in the hospital pharmacy at Mount Carmel Medical Center, Pittsburg, KS, Larry owned and operated Pittsburg Pharmacy, served as Executive Director of the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy, and worked at Food-4-Less Pharmacy. He was a member of the Kansas Pharmacists Association and the Meriden Chamber of Commerce. Larry was an avid KU fan, licensed pilot, a pinball wizard, loved gardening, and enjoyed opening his home to family and friends. Larry will be remembered for his generosity, caring for others, and his great sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert. He is survived by his wife Rhonda, his children, Brooke (Justin) Pottorf, Kansas City, MO; Danielle Froelich, Scottsdale, AZ; Larry C. Froelich,
III (Holly Gentry), Midway, GA; Luke Froelich, Scottsdale, AZ; stepson, Josh Eisenhart, Tecumseh; two sisters, Kathy (Ken) Fredette, Moorhead, MN; Pat (Jim) Smart, Great Falls, VA; a brother Jerry (Lee Ann) Froelich, Tecumseh; father and mother-in-law Al and Donna Kuhlman, Lawrence, KS; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Cremation is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice Services, Friends of Hospice of Jefferson County, Meriden Chamber of Commerce, or Meriden Community Library, and sent in care of the funeral home.
The family expresses their appreciation to Dr. Adrian Caracioni and the Cotton-O’Neil Cancer Center staff for their care.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Friday, Sept. 21 from 4-7pm at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd, Topeka.
