Ivan Walter Jehle 1924 - 2012
Ivan Walter Jehle, born December 14, 1924 in Worden, Kansas to Walter and Emma Jehle passed away on October 21, 2012 at the Senior Care Center located in Gunnison, Colorado. Ivan was the middle son of three boys and grew up on a farm located near Worden, Kansas. Ivan was a farmer for many years and then became a barber and owned and operated a barbershop in Lawrence. In 1974, Ivan moved to Gunnison, Colorado where he operated his barbershop and worked at the Homestake mine. A lifelong outdoorsman, he enjoyed any activity that was a physical challenge and was an avid hunter and hiker most of his life. Preceding him in death were his parents and younger brother Edwin. Ivan is survived by his oldest brother Harold Jehle of Baldwin, Kansas and his wife Wincel Jehle; his son, Glenn Jehle and his wife Hoa Jehle of Huntsville, Alabama; his nephews Ron Jehle of Keller, Texas and Charles Jehle of Baldwin, Kansas; grandchildren Xuan Haughey and Tom Jehle of San Diego, CA, and SSGT Benjamin Jehle of Quantico, VA; and his great grandchildren Landen Jehle and Makena Haughey of San Diego, CA. Burial services will be held conducted at the Saint John’s United Church of Christ in Worden, Kansas in a private service. Please sign this guestbook at Obituaries.LJWorld.com.
