Eunice M. Hays 1917 - 2012 Lawrence
No public services are planned for Eunice M. Hays, 94, Lawrence, KS. Private inurnment will be in the Cedarvale Cemetery in Neosho Falls, KS. She died on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Brandon Woods @ Alvamar.
Eunice was born on November 20, 1917 in Neosho Falls, KS (Woodson County), the daughter of Floyd and Elizabeth Myers Yoho. She attended Neosho Falls schools and graduated in 1936. The family moved to Lawrence in 1960.
Eunice had worked for many years as the Assistant Manager at the Gaslight Mobile Homes Park in Lawrence.
She was a member of the Neosho Falls United Methodist Church.
She was married to Mildon M. (Mel) Hays September 24, 1937 in Iola, KS. He preceded her in death in July 1973.
Survivors include two daughters, Jana (husband, Scott) Montgomery, of Lawrence, KS and Brenda (husband, Larry) Compton, of Branson, MO; two sons, Terry (wife, Virginia) Hays, of Clarksdale, MS, Kelly Hays, of San Antonio, TX , a brother, Glay “Corky” (wife, Rosalie)Yoho, of Neosho Falls, KS and fifty grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Archidean (Deani) Wendleton and Myrna Luther.
The family suggests memorials in her name to the Neosho Falls Cemetery or to the Meals on Wheels Program in Lawrence and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
