Rune J. Rasmussen 1961 - 2012 Lawrence
Memorial services for Rune J. Rasmussen, 50, Lawrence, KS will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2012 at the Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Lawrence. Private inurnment will be at a later date. He died on Monday, October 29, 2012 in Lawrence, KS.
He was born on November 17, 1961 in Bodø, Norway, the son of Johan and Marianne Moen Rasmussen. He had lived in Lawrence since 2000, after moving here from Wichita, KS.
Rune was a 1984 graduate of the Scandinavian Academy of Aeronautics in Gothenburg, Sweden. He also had a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Wichita State University in 1987.
He was employed as a Certified Database Architect for Adknowledge, Inc. in Kansas City, MO. He had also formerly worked as a consultant, database administrator and programmer for Oracle Corporation, Brite Voice Systems, and NCR/AT&T/Lucent.
He was a member of the Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Lawrence.
Rune was married to Molly Lewis Rodgers in December 2003. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include four daughters, Nicole Brundage, of Wichita, KS, Kristina Rasmussen, Emma Rodgers, and Lorel Rodgers, all of the home; two sons, Nikolas Rasmussen and Jack Rasmussen, both of the home; his parents Johan & Marianne Rasmussen, of Bodø, Norway; a brother, Tom Rasmussen, of Bodø, Norway, a sister, Marith Rasmussen, of Bodø, Norway, and a granddaughter, KayLynn Brundage.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lynette Lou Vick Rasmussen in October 2001.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in his name to the Educational Fund for the Children of Rune & Molly Rasmussen and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family will greet friends at the church following the memorial service.
