Patricia Aline Hay

Patricia Aline (Culver) Hay, of Lawrence, Kansas, Died Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at 12:40 PM, at The Groves Health Center in Independence, Missouri, at age 85.
She was born October 8, 1926, in Pittsburg, Kansas, the daughter of Roy Walker Culver and Ida Beatrice (Gahms) Culver. She graduated from Pittsburg High School.
She was united in marriage on May 30, 1944, to Edward Mac Hay, in Pittsburg. She raised two daughters, Kristie Lynn (Hay) Frike and Kim Ann (Hay) Murry. She was a devoted stay at home Mom, most of the years her girls were at home.
She began working at Penney’s in 1968. Later she took a position with ACME Dry Cleaners in the Lawrence, Hillcrest Shopping Center. She worked there for 8 years. In 1978, she worked at Janell’s Dress Shop in downtown Lawrence, and stayed there for 4 1/2 years.
Pat was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence. She was an avid bowler. She loved to dance and especially enjoyed her “Pepsi”. She dearly loved her family and was “the best Grammy” any grandchild could ever ask for.
Survivors include two daughters. Kris L. Frike of Kansas City, MO; Kim A. Murry and husband Tom of El Dorado, KS. There are five grandchildren, Rodney, Randy, Robert Frike and Ryan and Megan Murry. One great-grandchild, Dalton Frike.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, brother Eugene Culver and sister Juanita Fenoglio.
Funeral services will be at 11:15 A.M. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg with Father Tom Stroot officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends starting at 10:30 A.M. and the Parish Rosary will be recited at 11:00 A.M.
