Lula M. (Bolling) Kearn

LULA M. (BOLLING) KEARN, known to friends and family as Lou, passed away at her home in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Friday February 3, 2012 at the age of 55, after a long courageous battle with heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, and interstitial lung disease.
Lou was born to John Emery and Hazel Bolling March 27, 1956, in Charleston, S.C., She was raised in Bristol, TN where she attended grade school and graduated high school. Lou graduated LPN school in Beloit, KS in 1991 then she graduated RN school in Concordia, KS in 1992. Lou worked as a Registered Nurse for 16 years until illness fell upon her. She was a very caring and compassionate nurse, as nursing was her life. She forcefully ended her nursing career after many years as an RN at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS due to illness. Lou was a member of the Eudora Baptist Church where she always felt at home. Lou and her daughter Amber moved to Las Cruces, NM in May 2009 to improve her quality of life for the remainder of her life.
Lou is survived by one daughter, Amber Kearn, who was by her side caring for her until she passed away. Lou is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Brenda Kearn, Dennis and Diane Kearn, Darrel and Georgetta Kearn, Donnie and Sharon Kearn, Ralph and Phyliss Kearn, all of Concordia, KS. Survived by many nieces and nephews, Mary Ann and Roger Meier, Crystal and Jacob Marcotte, Gene and Barbara Kearn, Dennis and Meghan Kearn, Charles and Denise Cyr, Jimmy and Danita Green, Meilissa and Laine Rundus, PJ and Jill Kearn, Amanda Kearn, Rob Kearn, George Kearn Jr., Christopher Kearn, and JD Kearn. She is also survived by close friends, Rex and Diane Sicard and children, Mary Beem, Fern Beem, Gail and Barbara Longnecker, Machaela Waston and children, and all of her church family, as well as by many great-nieces and -nephews.
Lou was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Hazel Berry and husband Bill, mother and father in-law, George and Hazel Kearn, nephew, Jason Kearn and niece, Kayla Cyr.
A special thanks to New Mexico Primary Care Staff and Dr.’s, especially Dr. Maidana-Paz and Dr. Bala, New Mexico Cardiology, Dr. Zagler, Las Cruces Lung and Sleep Associates, Dr. Kevin Sherrer, Memorial Medical Center Coumadin Clinic and Infusion Clinic, all of Las Cruces, NM, for all their love and care.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Eudora Baptist Church, 525 West 20th Street, Eudora, KS. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a Memorial to be set at a later date by family.
